Together with E-Bridge Consulting, 50Hertz has created the Energy Transition Outlook 2035 and published it in July 2016. The study encompasses a range of expectations of possible scenarios for the energy transition in Germany. Based on this range, the study illustrates the consequences of these scenarios and draws conclusions for efficient grid investments.

Grid planning based on TSOs and DSOs sharing the same expectations for the energy transition is fundamental.

Within the scope of the project, the Energy Transition Outlook Part II will be created in close collaboration with 50Hertz and the DSOs.

In close collaboration with the client, the scenarios are updated while market- and grid analyses are conducted.

The core of the project includes objectives based on the scenarios of the Energy Transition Outlook and the classification of the newest developments as well as the development of a commonly agreed upon spectrum of future expectations for TSOs and DSOs. An outlook for 2050 will be analysed to determine how the ambitious climate goals can be reached without significant grid investments after 2035.
