- Gas Distribution Network Development Plans (§§ 16b-16e, 17 Abs. 2c, 17k)
- The permanent reduction in natural gas demand requires the submission of a development plan for repurposing or decommissioning existing natural gas networks
- Approval is required by the Federal Network Agency (BNetzA) or the relevant state authority
- Possibility to reject new connections and terminate existing ones if the plan is approved
- Development Plans for Hydrogen (§ 16c)
- Mandatory submission upon commissioning a hydrogen distribution network
- Coordination with gas network operators in the same area is necessary
- Biomethane Feed-In (§ 17 Abs. 1a, 1b, 16d)
- Priority connection for biomethane remains in place, provided it does not conflict with gas network development plans
- Regulations on the Dismantling of Decommissioned Networks (§ 48b)
- Flat-rate dismantling obligations are eliminated
- Ban on Long-Term Supply Contracts for Fossil Gas Beyond 2049 (§ 114)
