What is it like to complete an internship in energy sector consulting? The experiences of our former interns, Johannes Widmann and Robert Chatzipetros, provide an insight into the diverse tasks and development opportunities at E-Bridge.
Over the past few months, Johannes and Robert have supported our teams in projects and analyses related to the transformation of the energy system. In doing so, they not only deepened areas of expertise from their studies but also gained valuable practical experience at the intersection of engineering, regulation, and economics.
Diverse Tasks and Direct Project Involvement
From research and data analysis to the preparation of client materials and participation in client meetings and expert workshops, Johannes and Robert were integrated into project work from day one and were able to take on responsibility independently.
An important part of their internship was the close professional exchange with experienced colleagues. Through short communication channels, regular feedback, and direct collaboration within the project teams, both were able to further develop their technical and methodological skills.
Insights into Different Areas of Expertise
Johannes primarily supported projects in the field of transmission system operators (TSOs). His work focused on topics such as system stability, network development planning, and grid connections. He was also involved in grid connection applications within the TSO maturity assessment process and contributed to the preparation, facilitation, and evaluation of expert workshops on the System Stability Roadmap.
Robert worked in the Energy Markets team, focusing on battery energy storage systems, energy sharing, and European capacity markets. In addition to analysing regulatory and market developments, he developed a calculation model for the Levelized Cost of Storage of different storage technologies and evaluated electricity price time series to assess storage arbitrage opportunities.
A Successful Continuation of the Collaboration
We are particularly pleased that our collaboration with Johannes and Robert continues beyond their internships. Both will remain with E-Bridge as working students and will bring their experience and expertise into future projects.
We would like to sincerely thank Johannes and Robert for their commitment, diligent work, and valuable contributions. We are very much looking forward to continuing our collaboration with them.
