Enspired GmbH, a leading service provider specializing in the commercial optimization of battery storage assets, sought to expand its capabilities in physical asset optimization in the German energy market. While the company already acts as a Balancing Responsible Party (BRP) across all four TSO network areas in Germany, it required a thorough understanding of the regulatory, operational, and IT requirements related to market communication and physical asset management processes. To support this competence development, Enspired engaged E-Bridge to provide an in-depth analysis and structured guidance on market roles, obligations, and compliance processes for asset operators with focus on large battery storage systems.

E-Bridge developed a structured approach to deliver a comprehensive overview of the German required market communication processes for battery storage asset operators. The project involved an assessment of all relevant regulatory obligations, IT system requirements and operational procedures necessary for market participation. Key topics included the roles and responsibilities of asset operators, balancing group management processes, and Redispatch 2.0 obligations. The findings were consolidated into a detailed slide deck to provide Enspired with a clear and transparent representation of all relevant processes. Results very presented and discussed during two online workshops with the client.

The project resulted in a structured and detailed documentation of market communication processes, regulatory requirements, and strategic recommendations tailored to Enspired’s needs. The deliverables provided a clear roadmap for implementing the necessary processes, ensuring compliance with German market regulations while optimizing operational efficiency. Enspired gained valuable insights into the decision-making criteria for outsourcing versus internalizing market communication tasks, enabling the company to make informed strategic choices. This project strengthened Enspired’s market competence and prepared the company for an expanded role in physical asset management within the German energy sector.
