Bürgersolarpark GmbH installs photovoltaic systems on agricultural land in Niedersachsen, Sachsen-Anhalt and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. New challenges are now arising, particularly in the context of grid connection.

E-Bridge clarified in this project the issues through expertise and model-based analyses. Innovative concepts in the multi-megawatt range for battery storage and PV parks were developed and their economic impact for Bürgersolarpark GmbH was evaluated as part of a collaboration.
Phase one of the project assessed the dimensioning and design of a battery storage system in the order of 100 MW at suitable locations (co-location) with connection to the TSO grid and DSO grid.
In a second phase, the use of storage systems with limited grid connection power during the day and joint use with a PV system was simulated (including consideration of module orientation in variant calculations). Based on this, concepts to make the grid load more predictable for the grid operator were derived. The results were also used in the discussion about a grid connection with the grid operator (WEMAG).

Phase 1: Definition of a decision-making framework for the dimensioning of a large-scale battery on the basis of revenue and cost estimates as well as consideration of the (PV) project and grid situation on site.
Phase 2: Battery storage systems are suitable for co-location in order to bridge recurring, mid-day restrictions on grid feed-in. The design of the systems is closely linked to the agreed restrictions.
