On 15 September 2026, the second conference on the Roadmap for System Stability of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE) took place. The event was organised and developed jointly by E-Bridge, ef.Ruhr GmbH and the German Energy Agency (dena). On behalf of E-Bridge, Dr Baris Özalay, Head of TSO, and Managing Director Dr Marco Greve were responsible for the conference concept and its delivery.
The conference brought together representatives from politics, grid operations, industry and academia to discuss current developments and future requirements for the stability of the German energy system. The focus was on progress in implementing the System Stability Report as well as ongoing work within the various roadmap processes led by VDE FNN, transmission system operators and distribution system operators.
In addition, the conference explored the challenges of the energy transition and their implications for system stability. Another key focus was on technical solutions for the energy system of the future. Discussions covered topics such as the role of modern power converter technologies, advanced power electronics and innovative approaches to grid operation.
The conference highlighted that ensuring a stable and resilient electricity system requires not only technological innovation but also clear processes and close collaboration among all stakeholders involved. Only through a coordinated approach can the conditions be created to integrate increasing shares of renewable energy safely and efficiently.
E-Bridge supports the Roadmap for System Stability, particularly in advancing the interaction between market processes and grid operations. The objective is to continuously adapt the regulatory and technical framework to the requirements of an energy system increasingly shaped by renewable energy sources.
The Roadmap for System Stability makes an important contribution to safeguarding security of supply in the long term. E-Bridge is pleased to continue supporting the process and to work together with all partners involved in shaping the future of a stable, resilient and sustainable energy system.
