Europe’s security of supply is gaining increasing importance and the latest ENTSO‑E European Resource Adequacy Assessment (ERAA) published in December 2025 makes this clearer than ever. Rising LOLE (Loss of Load Expectation) values in many European countries compared to previous ERAA highlight growing adequacy challenges that require early attention.
E‑Bridge is proud that we contributed to this important work with two major contributions:
Development of Flow-Based domains
Our experts brought in their expertise on simulating capacity calculations on large European grid datasets and of applying advanced clustering algorithms to address this complex, multidimensional challenge. By delivering high-quality FB domains, E-Bridge contributed by improving both the accuracy and efficiency of the ERAA 2025.
Data Processing & Analysis
E-Bridge supported in the processing and analysis of the data from the economic dispatch simulations of ERAA. Both providing operational support as well as improving and extending existing tools. A particular highlight this year: our work on the Scarcity Analysis, which has been included in great detail in this years ERAA. This analysis provides deeper insights into when and why scarcity situations arise and how they differ across countries and time periods. Enabling to identify the key drivers and possible solutions to solve the adequacy problem.
These contributions help improve transparency, robustness, and reliability in assessing Europe’s future adequacy challenges – an important step toward a secure, sustainable and resilient energy system.
In our Team Ivan Marjanovic and Milica Bogdanovic conducted the development of the flow-based domain and Christopher Kneip supported in data processing and analysis. If you have any questions, please get in contact!
