In September 2025, the extension of quality regulation was presented, adding two key dimensions: Energy Transition Competence and Digitalization Index. These innovations create transparency on the digital maturity of DSOs and their ability to implement the energy transition effectively.

A major milestone was the Federal Network Agency expert workshop on September 10, 2025, where we showcased our concept and engaged in discussions with industry stakeholders. The press highlighted the new role of DSOs as “energy-transition competent” (read article).

With the publication of our study and the broad debate that followed, we contributed significantly to shaping future regulation – ensuring security of supply, digital performance, and a successful energy transition.
