ubitricity has developed the first mobile calibrated electricity meter for electric vehicles, opening up completely new possibilities for charging and billing EVs. The company also holds the patent for “Mobile Metering” (MM). The value of this patent was estimated as a basis for the further orientation of the company. E-Bridge was commissioned to prepare an external expert opinion to validate the assumptions made.
Together with ubitricity, E-Bridge analyzed and described the value added by MM. Based on various “use cases”, the value of MM was determined and compared with ubitricity’s assumptions and estimates. The assessments were based on relevant, publicly available information and studies.
The analyses were able to prove the vehicle-related added value of MM compared to stationary measurement. The improved availability for participation in the balancing energy market alone, as well as the more effective synchronisation of PV production and charging processes of electric vehicles, can – only in Germany – generate short-term added value in the two to three-digit million range.
The results of the study were presented ubitricity’s supervisory board.
