In order to lead Ferngas Netzgesellschaft mbH into a climate-neutral future, E-Bridge Consulting, together with Baker Tilly Germany and Bergische Universität Wuppertal, was allowed to develop an H2 target network planning and, for this purpose, to regionalise hydrogen scenarios up to 2045 in a node-specific manner. On this basis, a robust investment strategy up to 2035 was identified, in which the commercial implications, including financeability, were assessed and the strategic target paths for grid gas were derived.
The results show that district gas can promptly and reliably play an important role in large-scale decarbonisation with hydrogen. Prerequisite: The regulatory ambiguities must be resolved promptly.
