At the Gas Customer Forum hosted by Bayernwerk Netz GmbH at the Hirschaid Energy Park last week, one central topic took center stage: How can the market ramp-up of green hydrogen in Germany succeed?
In their joint keynote, Dr. Philipp Heuser and Lorenz Valk, both members of the Competence Group Hydrogen & Gas at E-Bridge, provided a practical perspective on current challenges and possible solutions. The discussion made it clear: The path to climate-neutral energy supply is demanding but achievable if the right levers are adjusted.
The speakers emphasized that the hydrogen ramp-up in Germany has so far only started hesitantly, and the reasons for this are diverse. The costs for green hydrogen are currently driven by several factors, posing major challenges for companies. At the same time, expanding infrastructure is a crucial lever, particularly close coordination between grid operators and industry. Funding programs, climate protection contracts, and regulatory frameworks play a key role in accelerating the market ramp-up. Finally, the presentation highlighted which success factors are decisive for viable business cases and how companies can successfully take initial steps in the short term.
A big thank you to Bayernwerk Netz GmbH for the invitation and excellent organization!
We greatly appreciate the intensive exchange with participants and look forward to actively shaping the hydrogen economy together. Do you have questions or want to deepen the discussion? Feel free to reach out to us!
