Our recent survey of around 40 municipal utilities in the Bavarian Kooperationsplattform Netz shows:
- All companies are affected by the shortage of skilled workers – more than half of them severely.
- Over 50% believe that the situation will worsen in the coming years.
The Consequences
The consequences are already clearly noticeable:
- Delays in implementing complex regulatory requirements,
- Challenges in meeting ambitious project goals,
- and an increasing burden on existing teams.
The shortage of skilled workers has long since become a central challenge of the energy transition.
Focus on Solutions
To specifically address the shortage of skilled workers, we are focusing on the following strategies:
Employer Branding
By building an attractive employer brand, network operators can increase their visibility and specifically target qualified skilled workers.
- Attracting New Talent: Targeted job advertisements and innovative training programs create access to the skilled workers of tomorrow.
- Long-term Retention: Modern work environments and tailored training opportunities promote the long-term retention of employees.
Shared Services
Pooling scarce resources in a central service center enables quick and cost-effective compliance with increasingly complex legal requirements.
- Standardized Processes: Harmonizing processes facilitates the use of shared services within a cooperation of network operators.
Support from E-Bridge
E-Bridge supports the network operators of the cooperation platform Netz in developing a strategy to tackle the shortage of skilled workers.
