Following a successful Quick Check, we are now entering the next project phase together with Stadtwerke Schwerte GmbH: the targeted and structured implementation of an Asset Management System in line with ISO 55001.
What does this mean specifically for the network operator?
Asset Management serves as a key management tool for municipal utilities to strategically align investments, maintenance, and operation of technical assets over the long term – especially in the context of the challenges posed by the energy transition. For Stadtwerke Schwerte, this means in particular:
- Transparency regarding the condition, criticality, and performance of assets,
- Risk-based prioritization of actions,
- and alignment of operational decisions in the network with the company’s strategic objectives.
The Quick Check provided valuable insights into existing structures and processes – highlighting both strengths and areas for improvement. These findings now form the foundation for building a management system that is both standards-compliant and tailored for practical application.
At the start of the implementation phase, Jennifer Büter and Matthias Wessels were on site. In an interdisciplinary workshop with representatives from the technical and commercial departments, we refined the shared vision and strategic direction – laying a critical cornerstone for the next steps.
We look forward to continuing our collaborative work with the dedicated team at Stadtwerke Schwerte!
